Fancy Instant Korean Ramen with Swiss Raclette Cheese

The better and the fancy way to enjoy a Korean Shin Ramyun Instant Ramen Noodle is to add some ooey-gooey melted Swiss Raclette cheese on top. Can’t get any fancier than this! The two most amazing and famous food in the world. I used the spicy ramen from South Korea which by far is the most tasty and satisfying ramen out there. Then, here comes Raclette. Raclette is a popular Swiss cheese. Traditionally served on top of cooked potatoes, onions, bread or dried meat. It’s usually scraped from a melting wheel of raclette into a dish. Just imagining it is so fancy! The flavors from the spicy ramen and raclette cheese combined are just simply marvelous! I couldn’t stop eating it. I don’t think you can either. Just like that, Raclette became my new favorite melted cheese!

The best part of making this dish is it’s really easy-peasy! Well, I made a mistake of leaving raclette on the pan while waiting for my noodles to cook. So, that turned out a disaster because leaving raclette on the pan for too long will hardened it and you won’t get the ooey-gooey melted cheese. I also didn’t have the raclette grill pan. I used a non-stick pan which worked just fine after the second attempt. So, if you’re trying this out for the first time, don’t feel obligated to buy the raclette grill pan. Save some money and use a non-stick pan. But, if you have it in hand, that’s great! You should put it to work and use it. I hope I don’t offend anybody by making this. Some might not like mixing these two together but I guarantee you after trying it, you’ll have a change of heart. So, my final word for this dish is to enjoy every bit of it while it lasts! It will disappear quickly, I mean very quickly! Oh, and by the way, please eat this in moderation. I don’t want to be blamed for any serious health conditions this may cause. Just putting it out there. But, if you really want to try this instant fancy cheesy ramen, here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of Nongshim Gourmet Spicy Shin Ramyun Noodle
  • 2 slices of Raclette or more!
  • Green Onion for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook Korean ramen noodles by following instructions on the back of noodle packet.
  • Cook 2 slices of raclette cheese on pre-heated non-stick pan on medium low heat. ( ~4-5 minutes)
  • Cover pan.
  • Watch carefully, when cheese starts to bubble and everything is melted, transfer immediately on top of ramen noodles.
  • Do not overcook. Raclette will harden.
  • Serve immediately and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

TIPS
1. Use pair of scissors when opening noodle packet.
2.  Use non-stick pan or a raclette grill pan.
3. Add a little bit of oil on non-stick pan before cooking raclette. It'll slide a little bit better. 
3. Eat in moderation.
